Shangri La is one of our 2 large luxury cottages (the other one is The Chalet). It is located lakeside at the end of a 700 ft driveway, at one end of the property with about 350 ft of bush separating it from the rest of the resort so it is our most private cottage.
The views from Shangri La are quite spectacular and we get rave feedback about the views of the lake, the island and unforgettable sunsets. The 9 sets of patio doors let you appreciate the outdoors even when you are inside.
The main cottage is over 2,000 sq ft - mostly on one level; but, the 3rd bedroom is upstairs.
In addition to the main cottage there is a boathouse sitting room right by the water and a children's playhouse on the other side of the main cottage. The boathouse and playhouse are both closed from just after Thanksgiving and reopen just before the May long weekend.
3 Bedrooms /4 Bathrooms...
The photo on the left is of the king size bed in the master bedroom which is on the main floor just off the main entranceway. This bedroom has 2 sets of patio doors opening onto a large deck overlooking the lake. A 2 piece bathroom is just across the hallway.
The 2nd bedroom is also located on the main floor just off the great room queen size bed and a two piece en-suite bathroom.
The 3rd bedroomwith 2 queen size beds is upstairs and has 2 rooms. The main room has a patio door opening onto a small balcony overlooking the lake. The 2nd room is an antechamber and there is a solid wooden door between the two rooms. The main large bathroom with a 2 person shower is located just at the bottom of the stairs.
There is an additional full bathroom in the boathouse sitting room (which is closed in the low/winter season).

Come in late September or early October and enjoy the wonderful fall colours and the studio tours - Bancroft and Madawaska Valley. Catch the Rally of the Tall Pines in November, the Celtic Festival in Maynooth in May, winter carnivals in February, Maynooth Loggers' Games (Labour Day weekend), Bancroft's RockHound Gemboree (August long weekend) or Wilno's Kashub (Polish) Day in early May.
We recommend a visit to nearby world famous Algonquin Park - the best time to see moose is in the spring; but, it is great at any time of the year. Consider cocooning or quality time together in the quieter seasons at our much lower non high season rates. It is becoming very popular, so book early in order not to be disappointed.
