What our customers have to say...
"Our 5th visit! Another amazing visit. So peaceful and nice to sleep 8 hours plus afternoon naps. Love the kayaks &
(water) trampoline. I dream of this place when life keeps chaotic hurdles in my way." Aug 2008
"We are first time visitors and loved the place! So close to the water. The cottage has amazing views. We had so much fun canoeing and kayaking. We also went horseback riding at Highland Wilderness Tours - it's great.... The cottage had everything we needed! We only had to bring clothes and food. See you next year." Sept 2008
"As other times before (5th visit) we had a wonderful stay here. With every visit we find improvements to the cottage or around it which makes us ever more comfortable. We enjoyed fishing, the hot tub, badminton, air hockey... I wish, we all wish, that we could've stayed one more week; but, we'll be back." Aug 2008
"I enjoyed my stay with my family. Cabin is adorable and clean. There is so much to do and I discovered a passion for kayaking. .. I also loved the close presence of the chipmunks and squirrels - they're so cute. Thank you for all the effort put forth towards the cleaning and maintenance of Blue Moon. Will definitely recommend to others." June 2008
Lakeside...
High Noon is the closest cottage to the lake and besides overlooking the swimming area is right above the dock at which the canoes, pedal boats and row boats are moored.
Younger children get a great thrill out of catching rock bass right from the dock.
With its positioning and the patio door on the side directly facing the swimming area, it is quite convenient for keeping a general eye on older children.
The other 2 patio doors face the island and overlook the dock area.
With 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed, it can accommodate up to 6 people; but, as the common area is somewhat compact we recommend occupancy of 6 only if a couple of them are smaller children.
Compact Common Area for a 2 bedroom; but, Comfortable and Complete...
High Noon has 4 rooms - master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, bathroom and common room (combined kitchen, dining and living room).
The living space is greatly expanded with the large deck overlooking the lake. The deck was renovated and enhanced in early July 2008.
It has a 3 piece bathroom - toilet, bath tub with shower and vanity sink. The room is paneled in natural pine which gives a very warm look. Please bring your own beach towels and toiletries.
The main room acts as kitchen, dining and living room. With patio doors facing the lake and on the side plus another large window, the room is bright and airy. The common room is somewhat long and narrow.
The kitchen has a fridge, stove/range, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher (new 2009) and toaster and is equipped with pots and pans, utensils, dishes and silverware. Being on vacation, most people do a great deal of the cooking on the provided gas barbeque (gas supplied).
Pine paneling in both bedrooms...
...
Both bedrooms are finished with natural pine and have queen size beds, while the sofabed in the living room is a double.
The master bedroom has a set of patio doors facing the lake.
Electronics & Indoor Entertainment...
...
High Speed Wireless Internet Access is free.
The color TV and DVD player are augmented with satellite service which provides more than 400 TV/radio/music channels .
There is a limited library of DVDs and books to supplement those that you may bring with you.
As Blue Moon Retreat is a small, friendly place, within a short while you will probably be able to extend the available selection by swapping with one of the neighbours. Decks of cards and board games are also provided.
Enjoy the outdoors at the resort ...
We have an "all inclusive" pricing approach, so you do not pay extra for the use of any of the resort's facilities.
Use the provided canoes, row boats, cottage kayaks or, pedal boats for fishing (fishing equipment not provided) or exploring the lake and the island. Personal flotation devices (commonly called life jackets) are provided.
Or perhaps you might like relaxing in a double hammock, swimming from the rafts, jumping on the new Aviva water trampoline and playing on the other AVIVA water "toys", playing horseshoes, badminton, beach volleyball or tennis.
Enjoying star gazing - it is awesome without the light pollution from the cities.
We hope that the 2 decks, your own fire pit (with free firewood), and comfortable outdoor furniture (picnic table and lawn furniture) help in this important area. Sunsets over the lake can be quite breathtaking and many guests like to sit at the docks or beside the lake for this .
Chill out / warm up in the hot tub and sauna of the central wellness spa which also has an air hockey game.
Since 4 of the 6 cottages have their own wellness spas, the central one is really not very busy.
Open May through Thanksgiving...
High Noon is only available from May (the best time to see moose in Algonquin Park) through Thanksgiving (just after the magnificent fall colors and related studio tours). As the spring and fall nights can be cool, the cottage is all insulated and has electric heat.
The virtual tour was made in early 2006, so it is quite out of date; but, you may find it interesting.
