The local golfing season is from about the beginning of May to end of October. This golf section contains information on the eight closest courses plus a few that you might find interesting enough to try on your trip to or from Blue Moon Retreat.

When coming from Purdy on Highway 62, on the left side before you really get into Bancroft – about 45 km (28 miles) from Blue Moon Retreat.

Comment from one of our customers: “For any golfers Bancroft has a half decent little course (9 hole) less than $ 20.00 for a round.”.

From their web site: “Eels Creek wends its way through the course enroute to Stoney Lake and encompasses a series of rapids cascading over pre-cambrian outcroppings.”

When coming from Purdy on Highway 62, turn right on Station Str. (center of town), then right at the top of the hill onto Chemaushgon Rd. Drive 1 1/2km and turn right onto Nicklaus Drive.

Bancroft's only 18 hole course, complete with driving range, practice areas and a full-service clubhouse.

This is a ways away; but, it might be a solution if some of the party wants to shop (in Pembroke – population 25,000) and others want to golf.

Directions From Ottawa: take highway 17 west to Renfrew; take the 3rd exit (Bruce St.) left; proceed to stop light (3 km); turn right on to highway 60 for 8 km; look for sign on .
