“As the sun sets over the hills and the quiet Algonquin evening descends, the outdoor theatre (km 35.4) (mile 22) is the place to head to if you're looking for a different kind of Park experience. A wide variety of films and slide talks are presented at the Park's Outdoor Theatre throughout the summer months, ranging in topics from Black Bears to the famous Canadian landscape artist Tom Thomson.”

o Films: Ti-Jean Goes Lumbering and Moose of Algonquin Park. Slide Talk – Fire and Ice – Algonquin has been crushed by glaciers and ravaged by fires over millions of years. Discover how these and other phenomena have shaped and changed the Algonquin landscape.

 
• Friday – July 26, 8:45 pm
o Films: White Throat and Wild By Nature: The Rut Slide Talk – Birds of Algonquin – From the brilliant Scarlet Tanager to the Boreal Chickadee, over 200 bird species have been recorded in Algonquin Park. Join a Park Naturalist to explore the lives of Algonquin birds.
 
• Saturday – July 27; 8:45 pm
o Films – Boreal Forest: Spring and Summer and Wild By Nature: The Rites of Spring; Slide Talk – The Black Bear – Most Algonquin visitors would like to see a bear, but not eating food from their cooler! Learn about how the bears live naturally, and what we humans must do to keep it that way.
 
• Sunday – July 28, 7:00 pm (Admission fee of $1.00 per person)
o Special Event – The Wakami Wailers Concert: Songs from the Lumber Camps. Using an assortment of musical instruments, this entertaining group portrays life in the old logging camps through raucous songs and humorous stories. The Wailers have performed at Disney World and Expo ’86. Don’t miss them here in Algonquin!
 
• Monday – July 29; 8:45 pm
o Films – Osprey’s Domain and Wild By Nature: The Toothed Ones; Slide Talk – Loons, Lakes and Lake Trout – Plunge beneath the water’s surface and discover how loons and Lake Trout and other animals survive in the often cold, dark world of an Algonquin lake.
 
• Tuesday – July 30; 8:45 pm
o Films – Trout Stream and Wild By Nature: World’s Afloat; Slide Talk – Raptors – Algonquin’s Birds of Prey – From the fast-flying Merlin to the soaring Broad-winged Hawk, raptors are awe-inspiring birds. Join a Park Naturalist to examine the predatory lifestyles of these majestic birds.
 
• Wednesday – July 31; 8:45 pm
o Films – Loons of Amisk and Wild By Nature: The Howls of August; Slide Talk – Explosions and Death Traps – Discover the hidden and fascinating world of Algonquin’s wildflowers, from the explosive seed dispersal of Jewelweed to the carnivorous Pitcher Plant.
 
• Thursday – August 1; 8:45 pm
o Public Wolf Howl - Event is held only if weather and wolves permit. OR If a Wolf Howl is not held, the following Evening Program will be held instead: Films – Gray Jays and Wild By Nature: Webs of Intrigue; Slide Talk – The Wolves of Algonquin – Algonquin Park is world famous for its wolves, and much of what is known about them was discovered right here—one of the very few places they are protected. The fascinating details of the wolf’s life history and ecology are related in this talk.
