“No visit to Algonquin Provincial Park would be complete without a stop at the Visitor Centre at km 43 (mile 26.7). .. the centre has world class exhibits on the Park's natural and human history , a relaxing restaurant, an excellent bookstore and "The Algonquin Room" featuring ongoing exhibitions of Algonquin art. A theatre presentation sums up the Park story and then takes you out to the viewing deck from where you can admire a breathtaking panorama of wild Algonquin landscape… 2002 Opening hours: April 27 - May 16 -- Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; May 17 - June 20 -- Daily 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; June 21 - September 1 -- Daily 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; September 2 - October 14 -- Daily 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; October 15 - 27 -- Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.”.
Fran and I always enjoy the exhibits on the park’s natural and human history; but, Fran’s favorite is the “Artist in Residence” exhibition just inside the front door.
